      FLIGHTS

    1. Initial Routings
SSA will focus on two main operational areas in the initial stages.

The first is to establish regional service to Nairobi, Entebbe and Khartoum. On these routes both passenger and freight traffic will be of equal importance. In the case of freight, existing non governmental organisations providing aid programmes have been faced with a lack of efficient and timely lift which Southern Sudan Airlines will be able to fulfill. In addition the normal flow of goods will be expected to grow rapidly. For passengers, these destinations are major hubs for trans-African and international destinations and have close economic and human ties with South Sudan through their common borders and human integration.

The second is to establish a domestic service from Juba to all the major towns to serve the internal market and to be a feeder service to our regional network. As efforts are made to establish viable infrastructure in the south, air service is in many cases the only viable option to serve the south in the short to medium term for all transported goods and movement of people. Over time, ground transportation will certainly re-emerge as the principal mode for many goods, however, it can also be expected that air shipments will grow as the economy continues to grow.

Phase two will expand our regional network to include Johannesburg, Dubai, Cairo and Addis Ababa and to progressively increase our domestic network.

Phase three will be the introduction of flights to Europe. The destinations will be identified at a later date.
